Buckland Bride - Brilliant Break Down Cover
Helicopter, horse, limousine, fire engine; ways of getting the bride to the chapel have certainly become more unusual in recent years but arriving in a AA break down van complete with flashing lights had to be a first at luxury Kingsbridge hotel Buckland Tout-Saints.
Maria Moon Park was expecting to arrive at the church in style in a 1937 Packard Super 8 but when the radiator blew just before leaving the hotel, she was left high and dry with only an hour until she was due to stand at the altar.
When Andy from the AA arrived just ten minutes later worst fears were confirmed – the car was out of action. An alternative car, a Beauford, was offered but would take too long to arrive.
Buckland Tout-Saint’s quick thinking Wedding Coordinator Kate Le Queux leapt to the rescue of her very distressed bride, suggesting they put a fun spin on the crisis by decorating the AA van in ribbons and have Maria turn up to the church with all the lights flashing. A quick phone call to the AA Head Office and Andy went from AA Patrolman to wedding chauffeur in the blink of an eye.
The bride arrived to massive cheers and a big sigh of relief from the groom and the rest of the ceremony went without a hitch.

The decorations, cake, flowers and dress were beautiful, one of the best I have ever seen - unfortunately you cannot plan for everything! The bride was delighted with the support and help she had received on the day
