Local hotel on the road to business excellence
Kingsbridge hotel Buckland Tout-Saints are embracing programmes put in place by South West Tourism to put Devon businesses on the map as the best of the best.
The hotel has been taking part in the ‘Committed to Excellence’ part of the Tourism Business Excellence Programme, designed by the British Quality Foundation and the European Federation of Quality Management.
A huge variety of tourism businesses as diverse as Looe Monkey Sanctuary took part in the scheme with the aim of inspiring their employees and improving their business functionality.
The intrepid hotel team took part in projects such as employee satisfaction, managing customer activity and expectations and assessment of the financial health of the business – an important skill in times of recession.
General Manager Gemma Balaam commented,
'Committed to Excellence gave us a structured approach to improving and continually improving areas of our business. It gave us insight into areas we needed to look at by taking an aerial view of the hotel and getting the whole team involved. We will be continuing to work on these projects as they are expanding the more we look at them and they are already having a positive impact on the business both financially, staff morale and customer satisfaction'
