Buckland-Tout-Saints
is a magnificent Manor House, which was built when William and Mary
were on the throne of England. Although the present building is over
300 years old, the original Manor House dated back to medieval times.
Unlike many such houses, Buckland has been owned by numerous families
throughout the ages, and has a fascinating written history going
back for nine centuries!
For a matter of interest, one of the farms on the estate was the
largest farm in the county of Devon.
Buckland was turned into a hotel in 1956 and underwent an extensive
programme of renovation and refurbishment in 1999.
"Our congratulations to you, for ensuring that the
amazing high standards of comfort and service and the excellence
of your manageress and her staff, enabled us to enjoy such an
important occasion, made even more perfect by the wonderful
ambience of your beautiful hotel"
